This is a sample of the concepts and terms we work with for YourTerm FEM:

domestic violence

any form of physical, sexual or psychological violence which puts the safety or welfare of a family member at risk and/or the use of physical or emotional force or threat of physical force, including sexual violence, within the family or household.

gender equality

principle that males and females should have equal rights, freedoms, conditions, and opportunities for realizing their full potential and for contributing to and benefiting from economic, social, cultural, and political development

female genital mutilation

any procedure involving partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs whether for cultural, religious or other non-therapeutic reasons

Semantic framing and database structure

YourTerm FEM concerns the domain of women’s rights . Thanks to the work of our Coordinator Julia Pagès and Dr Olga Koreneva from the Pablo Olavide University, we have codified the event which encompasses the process involved in implementing, for example, women-specific legislation or measures to guarantee access to equal opportunities. Read more about Frame-based Terminology for more details on how we do this.
